The opening ceremony of the fourth season of Karachi Kings’ Memon Super League took place in Karachi on Sunday, which was attended by former cricketers, politicians and other prominent personalities.
The league will feature eight teams including, TNP Titans, Classic Garments, Gigi Gladiators, Archihomes Patriots, Rims Lions, Benitoz, Wintex Strikes, and Suleman Textiles Stallions.
The President and Founder of ARY Network and the owner of Karachi Kings, Mr. Salman Iqbal attended the event and unveiled the beautiful trophy, which will be lifted by the winner of the league.
“Cricket is in our blood, our biggest sport and passion is cricket,” said Mr. Salman Iqbal. “Where there is cricket, there is ARY family and Karachi Kings.”
He also highlighted the importance of this league and how Karachi is becoming the center for cricket in the country.
“It is the fourth year of MSL and we will try to expand it every year.”
The management of the league is expecting it to become one of the leading and the most prominent cricket tournaments of the country.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s MNA and former Finance Minister, Asad Umar stated that he has played cricket in the streets of Karachi and he is glad that it has been organized in such a way.
“I have played cricket in the streets of Karachi my entire life, it is welcoming to see children of Karachi are being encouraged to take up the game in such an organized format,” he said while talking to ARY News.
MQM leader, Farooq Sattar praised Memon Community for their efforts of promoting the game.
“The leaders of the Memon Community have decided to take cricket back to the top level where it used to be,” he said.
Seasoned actor Aijaz Aslam, who also attended the event, said that he expects this league to expand all over Pakistan in the next few years.
The exciting tournament will kick off from September 3 in Karachi.
