The most followed franchise of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings, on this ‘Independence Day’ has taken an initiative to appreciate legendary cricketers for their immense services for the country.
Through Kings’ official Twitter account, the former Test fast bowler Wasim Akram got an appreciation for glorifying the identity of Pakistan.
“Karachi Kings pays tribute to National Heroes of our Cricketing History. The Legendary Wasim Akram is one of the Greatest Bowlers of Pakistan. He’s Fakhar-e-Pakistan for our generations,” Kings tweeted.
The ‘Sultan of Swing’ Akram made his ODI debut in 1984 against New Zealand at Faisalabad. He has 414 Test wickets and 502 ODI wickets during his career from 1984-2003.
He became the Pakistani first bowler to bag 500 ODI wickets in 2003. The left-arm prolific pacer got 17 man-of-the-match awards during his 19 years long career. Akram was also the ma-of-the-final in World Cup 1992.
