Gigi Gladiators on Wednesday defeated Classic Garments by three wickets in the opening game of Karachi Kings’ Memon Super League season four.
Batting first, Classic Garments failed to put a fighting score on board as they were bowled out for 97 runs by the Gladiators with five balls remaining.
Mirza Shoaib’s 29 off 30 balls remained the highest score of the match, he was run out in the eighteenth over.
Gladiators’ off-spinner Ejaz Shah played a vital role in the first game as he picked three wickets in his spell conceding only 16 runs which helped his team to claim victory against Classic Garments.
Chasing the target of 97 the Gladiators lost their first wicket in the second over when Mirza Shoaib took an easy catch on Kamil Mehmood’s delivery.
Mehmood bagged best bowler of the match award for his outstanding spell as he picked four wickets conceding only fourteen runs.
The Gigi Gladiators chased down the target of 97 runs in the nineteenth over of the match with three wickets in hand.
The winning captain Owais Rehmani while talking to the presentation ceremony said, “The pitch was bit dodgy but we have depth in our batting so I believe that we can chase any target.”
