Benitoz defeated ArchiHomes Patriots by 4 runs after a thrilling contest of Memon Super League played on Friday at the TMC Cricket Ground, Karachi.
ArchiHomes Patriots won the toss and elected to field first. Benitoz’s openers made the most out of the opportunity and scored 53 runs for the opening partnership in just 5.4 overs courtesy of Shakir Serang’s quickfire 36 off 17 deliveries.
On the other hand, Danish Aziz played a stable inning, who was joined by Sumail Aziz, who contributed 24 runs together before the opener lost his wicket after scoring 29 off 29 balls.
Sumail held one end and kept the scoreboard ticking, eventually he lost his wicket after making 38 runs at run-a-ball rate.
Muhammad Muavia scored 23 handy runs off 23 deliveries and remained not out which took his team to a competitive total of 152/7 in their quota of 20 overs.
Hassan Mehmood remained pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while Saqib Khan, Adeel Abbasi and Shaaz Shajani picked one wicket each.
ArchiHomes’ openers gave their team a flying start by scoring 60 runs in just 5.4 overs. Adeel Khan scored the major chunk, 42 at a strike rate of 200, before losing his wicket.
The batting line slump from 60-0 to 63-3 in no time which dented their run chase. Hassan Mehmood and Adeel Abbasi scored 23 and 39 precious runs, but they just fell short of the target due to lack of support of the lower order.
At the end ArchiHomes managed to score 148/10 in their quota of 20 overs and lost the match by a margin of just 4 runs.
Mohib Ahsen received the man of the match award for his brilliant spell where he dismissed four batsmen. Whereas, Anas Sattar took two, while Danish Aziz and Dossani picked one wicket apiece.
