LAHORE: Karachi Kings left-arm pacer Mohammad Hamza expressed confidence ahead of a crucial fixture against Quetta Gladiators in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11.
The Kings sealed a thrilling five-wicket win over arch-rivals Qalandars, marking an excellent comeback in the tournament.
After Lahore posted 200, the Kings’ batters came out all guns blazing, led by captain David Warner, who struck an unbeaten half-century.
The star of the night was Khushdil Shah, who turned the game around with his explosive 44* off just 14 balls.
Speaking to the media in the post-match press conference, Hamza emphasized the pressure in a do-or-die fixture.
“Today’s match was very important. We needed to win to stay alive in the tournament,” he told reporters.
He said the plan was simple — to emerge victorious at the end of the day.
“The strategy was simple — just to win the match.”
The 25-year-old praised captain and Khushdil Shah for their heroics, noting that the team believed in their chances while both batters were out there.
“When Warner was at the crease, we believed we could win. We will try to beat Quetta in the next match and break into the top four,” he concluded.
The Kings will play their final game against Quetta Gladiators on April 25 in a bid to qualify for the Playoffs.
