Ghani steers Suleman Textile Stallions to an impressive win

Shahryar Ghani led Suleman Textile Stallions to an impressive win against Rims Lions with his unbeaten 94 runs as they chased down a big target of 175 runs in a Memon Super League game played at TMC Ground on Wednesday.

Stallions won the toss and elected to bowl first in the contest. Lions had a decent start with 46 runs on the board at a run-rate of around 10 runs per over before losing their opener Umair Yusuf, who scored 29 (16).

The other opener, Afnan Karim continued batting in his merry way and had a handy 41-run partnership with Asad Wahid, however, they lost both the batsmen at a total of 87 runs on 38 (31) and 9 (12) runs respectively.

Waseem Ali played a gem of an inning for Rims Lions, where he scored 45 runs off just 29 deliveries with the help of four 4’s and two 6’s that took his team to a decent total of 175/6 in their quota of 20 overs.

Taha Arsalan remained the pick of the bowler with three wickets to his name, while Hamza Qadir, Shahid Mirani and Adeel Majeed took one wicket each.

As Stallions came out to bat, they had a brilliant start with a century stand between their openers, Shahryar Ghani and Nauman Ampara. The latter lost his wicket after making 55 runs off 35 balls.

Ghani continued his destructive batting despite losing wickets from the other end. The remaining batsmen contributed just 11 runs, while the opener carried his bat on 94 runs off 69 deliveries. Stallions got home on the last delivery of the match with four wickets in hand.

Inayatullah Khan took two wickets, whereas Waseem Ali struck once in the match.
