Kings, Qalandars go head to head in most awaited game of PSL 5

March 8, 2020

Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars will go head to head today at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for the very first time in the PSL season five.

The most awaited game is expected to be a high thriller as both sides are eager to win. Karachi Kings were unlucky a few days back against Multan Sultans as they were going to restrict them on a low total after opting to bowl first but eventually, the rain was the ultimate winner.

Lahore Qalandars were on song last night against Quetta Gladiators where they thrashed them by eight wickets and registering their second win of the tournament.

Kings are placed on the fourth spot of the table whereas Qalandars are on the last with only four points. However, Kings have made a strong comeback by winning two back to back matches and is looking one of the teams to beat in the tournament.

Their bowlers are performing collectively under the leadership of skipper Imad Wasim and left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir who has picked eight wickets in six matches.

Number one T20I batsman Babar Azam is the leading run-scorer for Kings, scoring 187 with two half-centuries. Another notable scorer is Alex Hales, who has scored 159 in five matches played.

Qalandars are heavily relying on Shaheen Shah Afridi and Samit Patel who has played a major part in their wins with the bowl and with the bat, Mohammad Hafeez, and Ben Dunk are their notable performers.

The weather of Lahore is expected to be great with little chance of rain. The match will begin at 7 pm.
