Karachi Kings team director Haider Azhar reflected on the team’s performance following their defeat to Hyderabad Kingsmen in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 fixture at National Bank Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Haider addressed concerns over the middle-order, saying the issue stemmed from early wickets rather than overall team performance.

“If the middle order is playing slowly, it is due to the early loss of wickets; it cannot be said that the team is not performing well,” he told reporters.

He further backed captain David Warner and other players, highlighting their contributions throughout the tournament.

“Captain David Warner and other players have also contributed with strong performances,” he continued.

Responding to a question about Hasan Ali’s role as a death bowler, Haider describes the fast bowler as versatile and capable of delivering in any situation.

He also praised young wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig, noting his association and development with the franchise.

“Hasan Ali is capable of bowling in all situations. Saad Baig has been associated with Karachi Kings for the past three years. He is a talented wicketkeeper-batter.

Haider further pointed out that interruptions in the schedule had affected the team’s rhythm, with some players also suffering from viral infections.

Looking ahead, Haider acknowledged the challenge posed by upcoming fixtures against Multan Sultans and Islamabad United.

“Warner is expected to be fully fit and return to the field by the next match.”

“Matches against Multan Sultans and Islamabad United will be tough contests,” the Karachi Kings team director concluded.
