Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim appeared on ARY’s premier sports show “Sports Room” where they expressed their thoughts as a player of the Karachi Kings and in general.
Mohammad Amir thanked his fans for supporting him even after what has happened and he is hopeful that he will win their hearts through and performance. Meanwhile Imad Wasim said it was a struggle before he made his international debut as he was playing domestic cricket for 10 years but once he stepped into international cricket things have been going in the right direction.
Amir was confident that the team will perform to the best of their ability during the tournament as the kings have a nice bunch of players and most importantly they are a good fielding side which is so important to a team’s success in a T20 match. He also added that Shoaib Malik is an experienced campaigner and he has vast experience of leading a side successfully which is evident from his domestic track record.
Imad believes that Karachi Kings is one of the best team of the tournament and it has a good mix of players but he also said that all teams are quite good and competitive. He said that the team has many good all rounders and many young and energetic players who are willing to give it their all for the team.
Mohammad Amir said that it has been a long journey since the spot fixing scandal and a tough period for him because it is not easy to make a comeback after 5 years especially for a fast bowler. But he has made gradual progress starting from club cricket but through this step by step procedure he made his way back into the side. He also thanked the board for giving him the opportunity to play in BPL where he was able to perform rather nicely.
Imad Wasim expected that the Pakistan Super League will be a launching pad for relatively unknown players and it will play the role that IPL did for young Indian players. He believed that playing alongside the likes of Kevin Pietersen and Chris Gayle will give exposure to domestic players and help them in their grooming.
