The Pakistan Super League has finally sold all the teams in the first edition of the season. The Karachi side has been brought by the ARY group and its CEO Salman Iqbal. The Karachi Kings was the most expensive team in the bidding process and ARY group was successful in winning the bidding process for the Karachi team.
All the other teams were also sold successfully and substantially high bids were received for all the teams. The other teams include a side from Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta. The whole bidding process took place in Lahore.
Having reserved production rights to ensure international standard coverage, HBL PSL’s broadcast arrangements have also been finalized for the next three years. The coverage will be produced by world leaders Sunset+Vine. Matches will be aired in Pakistan on Ten Sports and PTV Sports. Global TV rights for the same duration have been sold to Tech Front, a UAE-based media rights acquisition company.
Commenting on this development, Mr. Najam Sethi said: “Having awarded production rights to Sunset+Vine, the next step was to ensure that we get the maximum number of eyeballs and I would like to welcome our media rights partners.” (via PCB official website)
